Innovation Description

We innovated a chlorine production process of electrolysing salt using solar energy as a means to fight cholera.

Distilled water is mixed with a high quality salt(NaCL2) to form a brine solution that goes through an electrolysis process, that separate chlorine from sodium. About 1000 liters of 12% concentration of sodium hypochlorite is prodced per day in our mini plant. The source of power will be renewable solar energy (PV) installed on the roof top supplying about 470Kwh of A/C power per day.
